Lima City Tour – One Day in the City of Kings
The Lima City Tour begins in the Historic Center of Lima, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the colonial heart of the Peruvian capital. The first stop is the Plaza Mayor de Lima, the city’s main square, surrounded by impressive colonial buildings. Facing the square is the Palacio de Gobierno del Perú, the official residence of the President, where visitors may witness the traditional Changing of the Guard if the schedule allows. Just steps away stands the Catedral de Lima, an iconic landmark that houses the tomb of Francisco Pizarro and showcases remarkable religious architecture. The tour then continues to the Convento de San Francisco, famous for its underground catacombs and its historic library. The morning visit concludes at the elegant Plaza San Martín, surrounded by beautiful republican-style buildings.
At midday, guests enjoy lunch in the district of Miraflores, where they can taste Peru’s world-renowned cuisine, such as ceviche, lomo saltado, or ají de gallina, accompanied by a traditional Pisco Sour.
In the afternoon, the tour continues in the modern district of Miraflores with a visit to the Parque del Amor, offering spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean. A pleasant walk along the Malecón de Miraflores follows, providing panoramic coastal scenery ideal for photos.
